ELTE PhD students with research projects involving citizen science are invited to apply for CHARM-EU’s in-person training on Citizen Science in Action at the University of Barcelona.

In early February 2026, the CHARM-EU Alliance is organizing a Winter School for PhD students with a focus on Citizen Science in Action: Skills, Tools, and Community Engagement. The hands-on training programme equips early career researchers with the skills, tools, and mind-set needed to ideate, design, contribute to, or lead citizen science projects, with a special emphasis on their social dimensions. ELTE PhD students conducting their research with a citizen science component are encouraged to submit their applications.

About the programme

The training includes a live online orientation session for selected participants on 23 January 2026, designed to prepare attendees for the in-person activities in Barcelona. The main event takes place during 4–6 February 2026 at the University of Barcelona, featuring an intensive three-day programme of seminars, workshops, and mentoring focused on participatory methods, ethics, collaboration with communities, and public communication.
